On September 19, Azerbaijan attacked Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) — an ancient and ethnically Armenian region — in a shocking display of brutality. After a lightning battle and hundreds of both military and civilian casualties, Artsakh fell. This came after more than nine months of brutal blockade… Artsakh’s 120,000 people were tired, hungry and scared. Now, they are being forcibly displaced from their ancestral homelands. It is not too strong to say — this is ethnic cleansing. Already, most of the population have left their homes behind, facing traffic, fear, cold weather and shortages of basic supplies as they make the difficult journey north. They have many basic humanitarian needs right now and will have many more in the coming days, as winter approaches. All funds will be directed to FAR’s Artsakh refugee assistance programs.
